45-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
Guitar Center wants you to be super happy with your purchase. If you’re not satisfied for any reason, you have 45 days to return the item. Here are the important details:
- Return in Original Condition: The item must look brand new, without any scratches or marks.
- Include Everything: Make sure to return all the original packaging, manuals, warranties, and accessories.
- Refund Details: You’ll get a full refund for the product, but not for the shipping and handling charges. If you got free shipping, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Exceptions to the 45-Day Return Period
Not everything can be returned within 45 days. Here are the exceptions:
- 14-Day Return: Recording devices, DJ equipment, workstation keyboards, rack signal processors, and lighting/fog machines.
- 3-Day Return: Vintage instruments.
- No Returns: Clearance items, discontinued items, Apple hardware, opened software, software downloads, books, CDs, videos, vinyl records, turntable cartridges, tubes, in-ear buds, earplugs, in-ear monitors, clothing, special orders, and custom orders.
Special Fees
Band & Orchestra Returns
If you’re returning woodwind or brass instruments, there are extra fees:
- $10 Sanitization Fee: For all returned woodwind and brass instruments.
- $4 Restocking Fee: For returned bows.
- Mouthpieces: $8 sanitization fee for mouthpieces over $300, $4 for mouthpieces under $300.
Apple Product Returns
Apple products are subject to a 10% restocking fee on any open-box returns. However, if you encounter any defects in materials or workmanship covered by Apple’s one-year Limited Warranty, you should refer to Apple’s return policy
Holiday Extended Returns
- Purchase Now, Return by January 31, 2025
- Applies to items in original condition for a full refund or exchange.
- Purchases made after December 17 follow the standard 45-day return policy unless the extended return period (until January 31, 2025) applies.
Extended Buy Online Pick-Up Option
- Place Online Orders Now, Pick Up by December 24, 2024
- Orders placed between October 31 and December 10, 2024, can be picked up in-store until December 24, 2024.
- Extended pick-up window: 14 days or December 24, 2024, whichever is later.
Exceptions
- Items with a standard 3-day return window are not covered by the holiday policy and must follow their regular return terms.

Returning Your Purchase
You have two main options to return your purchase:
- In-store returns: If you purchased an item in-store or online, you can return it to any Guitar Center store. Bring a copy of your order confirmation email or the packing slip that came with your order, and you’ll receive credit immediately. Returning your product in-store allows you to avoid paying return shipping charges and eliminates the need for a return authorization code.
- Online returns: If you prefer to ship the item back, you’ll need to obtain a return authorization code by calling 1-866-498-7882 or emailing service@guitarcenter.com. Once you have the code, pack the item securely and send it to the following address:
